Meet Elizabeth
Nurse. Stroke survivor. Patient advocate. Speaker.
The Day Everything Changed
On April 4th 2023, Elizabeth survived Venous Sinus Thrombosis, a massive ischemic hemorrhagic stroke that required emergency brain surgery. In an instant, the experience nurse became the patient- fighting to survive and beginning a recovery that would reshape every part of her life.
Experiencing healthcare from both sides transformed Elizabeth's purpose. Today, she combines her clinical expertise with her lived experience to challenge bias, strengthen patient advocacy, and inspire healthcare professionals to listen, speak up, and act with moral courage.
Why I Speak
Elizabeth’s work is rooted in one truth: patients know when something is wrong, and healthcare professionals have a responsibility to listen. Drawing on her experience as a registered nurse leader, educator, stroke survivor, and advocate, she speaks about bias, moral courage, patient safety, and the power of using your voice. Her goal is not to assign blame-it is to change what happens next.
